About IDEALS

In 1993, the IDEALS Foundation, a 501-c-3 educational foundation, was created to offer a proprietary signature curriculum based on life fundamentals and leadership skills enabling young people to be more effective leaders and positive role models.

Our programs are designed to focus on high school students who have shown the desire to better equip themselves to be positive leaders and who want to make a difference in their schools, their teams and in the lives of those they influence.

IDEALS Where are They Now?

This is a first in the series of updating what some of our former IDEALS students are doing. Today we actually are going to talk about two former students from the 2003 Leadership School Class in Atlanta GA because they are married to each other!

Ryan Wood and Erin Pridemore Wood

Erin and Ryan WoodRyan and Erin attended Buford HS in Buford GA where Ryan played football and Erin ran track and participated in Competition Cheer. Ryan attended Duke University on a football scholarship and Erin attended the University of Georgia. While at Duke, Ryan was involved in Athletes in Action, Student Athlete Advisory Council and graduated in 3½ years and earned his Master’s Degree during his final year of eligibility.

Erin didn’t participate in sports but was active in a ministry with athletes and later did internships with the Atlanta Falcons which later led to a full-time position with them, worked in the Duke Athletic Dept and several years at Perimeter Church in Atlanta before proudly being a stay at home mom.

Ryan began his career as an intern with Merrill Lynch then later with a real estate developer. Upon graduation, Ryan pursued his interest in the field of real estate development and now currently holds the position of VP of Corporate Development for IDI Gazeley in Atlanta.

How did they benefit from IDEALS?

Both felt the class in Public Speaking has been huge for them in building their confidence in this area. IDEALS just developed their confidence in their ability to be better leaders through the various classes and they also developed some great relationships with student athletes from other schools. They felt IDEALS provided them a long term vison beyond high school and put them a “step ahead” of their peers.

Ryan and Erin now live in Johns Creek GA, a suburb of Atlanta and have one daughter and are expecting their second child soon.
